MOD is the contracted form of “Modernism”, a cultural phenomenon that is widespread among young English in the late ’50s and early’ 60s. It was a real movement that captivated a generation, using a military symbol as a sign of their religion. The Parka became a uniform style and thanks to the emblem of the Royal Air Force , became the true symbol of the MOD. For the spring-summer 2016 , Prada presents the special collection MOD Prada Eyewear , referring to the style and period of the British culture, to create a modern version of the “MOD Tribe”.
Vanessa Moody, protagonist of the project, became the initiator of this style, which Prada cloaked his iconic modernity to a meta-Mod version: modernism seen through the eyes of the master of modernism stesso.Una femininity decisive and bold described rigorous design : the square frames, is characterized by massive lateral details acetate, which together with metal profiles, frame the strict lenses.
The special MOD Prada collection is currently available in Prada boutiques and at selected opticians worldwide.
