Spring is a time for renewal and the September edition of L’Officiel Australia embraces the spirit of the season.
The issue marks a couple of firsts for the magazine: model Jessica Hart graces the cover—among a series of international stars, Hart is the first Australian face to do so. Photographed by leading fashion photographer Simon Upton, Hart talks about life in front of the camera and beyond the runway—and her plans to be remembered as more than just a pretty face.
To mark the milestone, the September issue is available as a special Collector’s Edition, marked by two distinct covers.
Celebrating local fashion heroes, the issue includes over 30 pages dedicated to the biggest names in the Australian industry, including Hart, the country’s leading designers, buyers and an exclusive interview with online influencer Nicole Warne (below) of Gary Pepper fame.
Elsewhere, L’Officiel features an exclusive interview with Viktor Horsting of Viktor & Rolf on the eve of the duo’s first haute couture show since announcing they would abandon ready-to-wear in favour of fashion’s ultimate artistic expression, couture.
The September issue includes a new lifestyle feature, La Vie, looking at the best in travel, interiors, wining and dining, including an interview with restaurateur Guillaume Brahimi. Reports on the haute couture shows; the phenomenon of culture’s embracing of fashion-themed documentaries and exhibitions is explored; one-time Coco Chanel muse, model Vera Valdez, revisits the home of her late friend; and L’Officiel journeys through the south of France for a road trip.
