“All hats relate to beauty and makeup, because hats enhance the features of a face,” says headpiece artist Philip Treacy. “Makeup does the same thing. It improves the person, and we all need to be improved.”
A makeup collaboration between the headline-making hatter and the colour-loving M.A.C seems so meant-to-be, you wonder what took so long. File it under worth the wait. Treacy was inspired by his three favourite designs, each spotlighting a particular zone of the face, and lending itself to a different colour and texture. “One came from a very colourful perspective, one from a metallic perspective and one was a sort of gothic drama,” says Treacy.
