One of L’Officiel’s favourite Australian designers took to the runway at NYFW with the collection, Master and Mischief.
Nicky Zimmermann describes it as both conservative and disobedient with a focus on textured fabrication. The name perhaps recalls the Bulgakov novel, The Master and Margarita where the heroine takes on the role as hostess at Satan’s ball. It’s a return to beauty for the iconic designer—lace, embroidery, linens and cottons. A little bit of mischief comes through with the shorter hemlines that will have your heart aflutter. Think Chloë Sevigny in a virginal white dress—at an all night rave.
