Cara Delevigne, just one of the notable guests at the opening of an exhibition honouring Coco Chanel—Mademoiselle Privé
October 12th, 2015 in the presence of Karl Lagerfeld at Saatchi Gallery in London, CHANEL opened the exhibition ‘Mademoiselle Prive’, a journey through the origins of CHANEL’s creations capturing the charismatic personality and irreverent spirit of Mademoiselle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.
Joining Karl Lagerfeld at the opening were Julianne Moore, Vanessa Paradis, Lily-Rose Depp, Lily Collins, Isabelle Huppert, Geraldine Chaplin, Jamie Bochert, Stella Tennant, Rinko Kikuchi, Alice Dellal, Jemima Kirke and Rita Ora. In a video produced by the label, Kirke applauded CHANEL’s efforts to expand definitions of femininity, starting with its eponymous founder’s redefining gender roles and what constitutes as beauty. Lily-Rose Depp described how she was moved by the objects belonging to Coco Chanel presented in the exhibition.
Following the private viewing, guests celebrated the opening in a club created especially for the evening on the second floor of the gallery with live performances by St. Vincent and Jamie Bochert. Lily Allen, Jonnie Wilkes and Jarvis Cocker who DJ’d.
