A rumour finally confirmed, Maria Grazia Chiuri takes the reins of Dior becoming the first woman in the 70 year history of the maison in the position of Creative Director.
The departure of Raf Simons saw the history of Dior temporarily left orphaned, with some predictions about its new Creative director, but none ever thought it will be other half – Maria from Valentino. Chiuri takes the reins after 8 years at the helm of Valentino with her inseparable creative partner Pierpaolo Piccioli, who previously directed Fendi for 10 years.
Her appointment will be official after the Dior Couture show on July 4th.
