Burberry presents its new campaign with the work of British artist Luke Edward Hall and photographs of Mario Testino.
“Luke is very talented and has been wonderful to work and collaborate with him in our campaign. His illustrations, along with the powerful photographs of Mario Testino, artisanal capture the spirit of the collection , “says Christopher Bailey , creative director of the brand. Bailey refers to Luke Edward Hall, a British artist who with only 26 years old and studies at Central Saint Martin’s, has established a run for their particular aesthetic.
We know that part of the philosophy of Burberry is to support the British talent and that’s why Luke was chosen to present the new collection of clothing for women and men, with the model Edie Campbell and actor Callum Turner.
Celebrating the legacy
The pieces chosen for the campaign refer to patterns and textures influenced by artists, musicians and history of UK and are centered around specific pieces like bag The Patchwork , the iconic Heritage Trench Coat and The Buckle Boot .
About The Patchwork
He made his appearance during the catwalk presented in February this year, and in less than a week ran out. The illustrations of Luke reflect the individuality of the collection and the idea Bailey of having two identical styles.
Each bag is named after a city, street or town in England and are created with a variety of materials, ranging from classic checkered fabric to suede.
“Working on this campaign Burberry was very exciting for me. Collections, variety of textures and bright colors, inspired me to paint; I love the colors and it was a delight to experience without restrictions. I was lucky that they have given me artistic freedom and be the first to interpret the iconic Trench Coat my way. As an artist and English designer has been a pleasure working with Burberry, “said Luke Edward Hall.
