The Cat is out of the bag and with a bang.

Reminiscing and commemorating a century old iconic animated figure ‘Felix – The Cat’, First Thread an upcoming E-Tailer renowned for its new generation centric niche and quirky collaborations with leading fashion brands, brings a capsule collection in partnership with Dreamworks, featuring some of Australia’s most talented emerging designers.

The project ‘Project Design Felix’ brings top Australian designers such as Phoenix Keating, Mariam Seddiq and Nylons under one creative roof to bring  Felix – The Cat into the 21st century. Behind the scenes is Kate Lillian Muir, Co-Founder of The First Thread whose creative initiative made this capsule collection possible.

When asked her on what story she would like to convey to her audience, she replied  “The First Thread x DreamWorks Animation emerging designer capsule collection is the first of its kind anywhere in the world. The idea behind this creative collaboration is to task super talented, exciting emerging Australian designers with the opportunity to put their spin on and contemporise the Felix The Cat character for a generation of style conscious consumers.”

 

The Felix Capsule Collection will be put together by the following designers:

• Catsuit by Phoenix Keating (Exclusive Interview)

• Necklace, earrings and bracelet by Nylons (Bianca Censori)

• Embellished sweatshirt by Mariam Seddiq

• Cufinks, tie pin and amulet by Burton Metal Depository (Claire Ho)

• Swimwear by LunarSand (Ruby and Asher Licciardi)

• Leather look embroidered pants by Pizzuto (Suzie Rose Vella)

• Resortwear by Caslazur

The creation perfectly complements various collaborators/designers part of this iconic collaboration. The capsule collection is divided into two parts; resort and rtw – this distinction allowed each of the designers to stay true to their own brand identity whilst bring Felix the Cat to life. The capsule collection includes jewellery, party wear, street luxe wear and swimwear.
