In February this year, Burberry announced a major change: it was an adjustment in the conventional fashion calendar to combine parades man and woman and present timeless collections where you no longer have to wait six months to acquire the garments.
Now they can buy immediately after the end of the parade. Today the brand reveals a preview of what we will see in the coming weeks during London Fashion Week, and while we wait to witness this change in the industry, we present some data about the collection.
- The inspiration of the collection and the campaign is the novel Orlando of Virginia Wolf, which Christopher Bailey, creative director, looks like a love letter to the past and as a way to offer a tribute to the brand design and craft heritage .
- The protagonists of the campaign are Jean Campbell, Cavan band McCarthy and Alex Dragulele Swim Deep. The campaign will be launched immediately after the collection is presented.
- It was photographed by Mario Testino at the Walker Art Gallery located in Liverpool.
- The campaign is complemented by a series of portraits of artisans and workers in factories and workshops Burberry found in England and Italy. All this as part of a collaboration with The New Craftsmen , an association that celebrates the work of British craftsmen.
“These changes will allow BUILD CLOSER CONNECTION BETWEEN THE EXPERIENCE TO BELIEVE IN BRIDGES AND THE TIME THAT PEOPLE CAN EXPLORE COLLECTIONS PHYSICALLY”. – Christopher Bailey
- All images will be displayed after the catwalk during London Fashion Week.
- The collection presents for the first time The Bridle , bag for men and women inspired by the characteristic equestrian designs England.
- Previously the brand presented its parades in Hyde Park Corner, opposite the Royal Albert Hall in London. As part of the schema change, the parade will move to a place called Makers House, located in Soho.
- To recognize those who are behind the creation of each of the pieces, will be open to the public from 21 to 27 September to showcase the various works of craftsmen.
