Make-Up Artist, Creative Consultant and Entrepreneur, Charlotte Tilbury in talks with L’Officiel on her ingenious product line, extensive beauty routine and secrets of a confident skin.
’O Your products are known for being extraordinarily clever and ‘magic’, in a sense – hence the Magic range of products. What is particularly special in your eyes about the new foundation?
Charlotte Tilbury: My Magic foundation is life-changing! I wanted to create a foundation that EVERY woman loved – it is a guaranteed perfect skin day, everyday. This demi-matte Magic foundation has three genius ingredients that make it incredible – Mushroom Extract actively tightens the pores for a flawless, poreless looking face, Hyaluronic Filling Spheres plumps out fine lines leaving skin moisturized and refined, and Supercharged Vitamin C reduces sebum production over time, making the skin look lit-from-within.
’O What’s the ultimate multi-tasking product in your kit and how do you use it?
CT: My infamous Magic Cream is also an amazing multi-purpose product. It’s an instant turnaround moisturizer for dewy, luminous, youth-boosted skin. A q-tip with a little Magic Cream will also be your secret weapon when creating the dream feline flick – perfects any mistakes in seconds!
’O What’s a typical day in products for you?
- Wakeup: Cleanse using Miracle balm, and apply my Goddess Skin Clay Mask. Remove with warm water.
- Apply my Magic Cream using the Tilbury Tap method, and then pat in my Magic Eye Rescue to the delicate eye area using my ring finger for the lightest touch.
- Magic Foundation, Mini Miracle Eye Wand, and Retoucher on any imperfections.
- Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder – I never leave the house without it, it gives you HD ready skin.
- Apply my signature Dolce Vita eye using my Dolce Vita palette (Prime, Enhance & Smoke), and then apply a winged out Feline Flick using my Feline Flick Shodo pen.
- Contour using the Sculpt shade from my Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette, and then I drip candlelight along the tops of my cheekbones.
- Line the lips with Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk, and fill in the lips with my K.I.S.S.I.N.G in Penelope Pink!
- Finally, a swish and pop of Ecstasy blush!
- For the evening, I will amp up my Dolce Vita palette on the go, adding more Smoke and Pop shades & liner to the eye for extra sexy, sultry definition.
- Finally, I will contour, and add more blush!
- I sleep in a Bedroom Eye!

CT: Beautiful skin is everyone’s skin! Beautiful skin is skin that you are happy in, AND confident in. The key to confidence is great skincare and makeup and self belief! I believe if you look good, you feel GOOD, and the world responds differently to you!
