That’s what Karl Lagerfeld had in mind for the presentation of the Spring-Summer 2017 Haute Couture collection at the Grand Palais. Chanel goes goth lite this autumn—shot in moody black and white, the campaign has models Lindsey Wixson and Anna Ewers sporting mohawks and rather incinerating stares. Lagerfeld has stepped a little left of the softly romantic looks that have underpinned the Chanel woman. Sharp, a little fierce and dark, the tailoring still retains romance, just in an edgier incarnation.
